Bono, el Autoestopista

Gilbert Brule (jugador de los Edmonton Oiler) y su novia recogieron a un autoestopista inusual en West Vancouver el martes 30 de Mayo - El líder de U2 Bono.

Gilbert y su novia Kelsey se dirigían en la tarde del martes a un parque cercano a pasear con su pastor alemán, cuando vieron a dos personas haciendo autostop (dedo), Gilbert le dice a su novia que uno de ellos es Bono, ella no le cree y sigue conduciendo, mirando por la ventana luego decidieron dar vuelta y no lo podian creer.

"Yo no quería parar, pero estaban haciendo señas y Gilbert gritó "Es Bono!", dijo Kelsey la noche del miércoles en el concierto de U2 en Edmonton.

Resulta que efectivamente era Bono junto a su asistente. Ambos habían salido a caminar cuando los sorprendió la lluvia.

Bono y su asistente subieron a la parte trasera del auto, junto al pastor alemán. En el transcurso del viaje hablaron sobre el equipo de hockey donde juega Gilbert, de Dublín y del amor de Bono a la ciudad de Vancouver.

En agradecimiento, Bono los invitó al concierto en Edmonton. En el pase de backstage de Kelsey, Bono firmó: "Gracias por el viaje" y en el de Gilbert puso "Mi héroe Gilbert".

En el Concierto Bono dijo:

"Me gusta el hockey sobre hielo, porque la gente que juega hockey sobre hielo es el tipo de personas que recogen autoestopistas... Estoy tan agradecido... He decidido que quiero ser Gilbert Brule".
